hey! i'll make a diaryland! why not!

this week i went to see ghost world. twice! weird thing is, i'd always buy eightball comics and i'd been really into "velvet glove"... then when that ended and ghost world started, i was like "ok wtf is up with these cranky indie-lookin' girls in eightball? is dan clowes trying to jump on the optic nerve bandwagon or wot." i refused to read ghost world during the entire time it ran in eightball because i thought it was supposed to be some trendy twee thing.

but i couldn't resist the idea that an eightball comic was turned into a movie!! so i skipped out early on club lovely to go see it late at night. it was awesome. thora birch + steve buscemi rule. and i went again later with some friends that wanted to see it. when seymour's room mate said "i'm gonna be in my room..." in the movie, i turned to my friend seo hui and said "omg, that's your room mate!" there were so many great moments in the movie, i don't even start where to know. afterwards we went to some bar that was really pretty average but had this huge lightbulb sign that says "the 500 club." then we went to an old fashioned all night diner on geary that was staffed entirely by chinese ladies. when we came out, it was really eery foggy misty.
